Better than Disneyland

Today we spent the day in Portland and decided to go walk through Ikea. We wondered how Noah would do walking through such a big store, but he LOVED it. He ran around sitting on all the couches saying, "Sit this one, mommy!" My other favorites were, "Look! A Kitchen! Let's eat," and, "Whoa, mom! A house in there!" When we walked past the play area, he told us he wanted to play, so we dropped him off for about half an hour. He didn't want to leave. The whole way out of Portland he begged Mike, "Play, Daddy! Backwards, Daddy, backwards!" in an attempt to get Mike to turn around and go back. I asked Noah what he liked better, playing at Ikea or Disneyland. Sorry, Mickey.

Argh, Matey!

Noah had a lot of fun on Halloween. Our church had a party for the kids with games and candy. Noah ran around the whole night yelling, "Argh, Matey!" He fully took on his role as a pirate! Brynley didn't know what to think of her costume, but was very kind to stay in it without complaining so I could take pictures.

Adventures

Mike has instituted "Family Adventure Friday." For our first FAF we went hiking.

It was beautiful! We couldn't believe how gorgeous it was. I told Mike it felt like we were on vacation. We didn't hike the whole way because it was a 2 1/2 mile walk, but we did go far enough to see this.Noah had lots of fun. He kept saying he was,"Hikin' in the mount-tens." Brynley liked looking up at the trees from her carrier, and had a good nap on the way back down.

Brynley Update

Ms. Brynley had her two month check up today. The doctor was very impressed with how well she can follow with her eyes and push herself up when on her tummy. She weighed in at 11 pounds 9 ounces and 23 1/2 inches, which puts her in the 75th percentile for height and 60th for weight. She was all smiles until she got her shots. She screamed for about twenty minutes. Even now she looks so sad! She needs lots of cuddles.

Oh, Dear!!

The other day we looked out our window and saw these:

We snuck outside and I was able to snap some pictures before Noah yelled, "Look, Mom!" and the dear ran away. A couple of weeks ago we had six elk eating apples off our tree, but I didn't get a picture of them... it was dark, they were big and scary, and I was trying to get a little girl to sleep at 2:45 am. I did, however, go wake Mike up to come look at them. Suprisingly, he didn't make fun of me. He thought it was cool, too.

I decided to copy Jaqui's princess post. I'm not too sure of the results, except I do have two older sisters that liked to pick on me. :) I made Mike take the "What Reality TV Show Should You Be On?" quiz. He should be on Survivor. I don't think he could do it though. He is too picky of an eater.

The mind of a two year old

I'm sitting on the couch nursing Brynley. Noah sits down next to me and says, "What doin', mom?"

Me: "I'm feeding sister."

Noah: "Feeding sisser?"

Me: "Yep."

Noah: (Pointing to my chest) "There food in there?"

Me: "Yep."

Noah: (Very matter of factly) "There cereal in there."

So we had told Noah that Brynley got milk from mom... so obviously I would make cereal, too!
